Terms of Use

These Terms are an agreement between you and Carina Dataworks (“Carina Dataworks,” “we,” “us”), which operates BoxFit (the “Service”). By using the Service, including by ticking “I agree to the Terms of Use” when you create an account, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Packing results are estimates from a heuristic, based on the sizes you enter. Check fragile, heavy or high-value orders by hand, and leave room for packing material.
1. What BoxFit is
BoxFit is a box picker. It takes the item and box sizes you enter, tries to pack the items into each box, ranks the boxes, can split an order across several boxes, and suggests an ideal box size. It does not connect to or change any store, marketplace or carrier account, and it does not buy shipping labels.
2. Estimates only
Packing is a hard problem, and BoxFit uses a fast heuristic, not an exhaustive search. It may say a box doesn’t fit when a person could fit the items, or show a layout that isn’t practical in real life. It treats items as rectangular blocks, packs them edge to edge, and doesn’t add padding, dunnage or crush strength. The support check (each item needs most of its base resting on something solid) and “upright” option are simplifications. Weights and costs are only as good as what you enter. Results are for information only and are not shipping, carrier, insurance or packaging-safety advice.
3. You are responsible for your data and your decisions
You are responsible for the accuracy of the sizes, weights and costs you enter, for checking results before you ship, and for any carrier fees, damage, returns or other costs that come from how you pack.
4. No guarantee of results
We do not promise any savings on boxes, shipping or packing time.
5. Provided “as is”
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” with all faults and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carina Dataworks and its owners, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, damaged goods, shipping costs, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Carina Dataworks and its owners, contractors, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your data, your shipments, or your breach of these Terms.
8. Your data and privacy
Packing runs in your browser. Quick mode and the demo are not saved. In Saved mode your SKUs, boxes and stock levels are kept in your browser and, while your trial or subscription is active, also stored in your account so they sync to your other devices, held for us by Cloudflare. See the Privacy page for details. You keep ownership of your data.
9. Accounts
Quick mode and the demo work without an account. Saved mode with cloud sync needs an account with a free trial or an active subscription. Use an email you control and a password you do not use elsewhere, and keep it private; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
10. Plan, free trial, billing and cancelling
The plan. There is one plan, All Access, with every feature: Saved mode, cloud sync of your SKU library, boxes and stock levels, splitting, and the 3D view. It costs $12 a month or $99 a year.
14-day free trial. Creating an account starts a 14-day free trial of full access with just the account. No card is needed and nothing is charged. There is one free trial per email address: deleting your account and signing up again with the same email does not start a new one. If you haven’t chosen a plan, we email you a reminder about 3 days before the trial ends and on the day it ends.
Choosing a plan. To keep using Saved mode and sync after the trial, choose a plan ($12 a month or $99 a year) on Stripe’s secure checkout. You can do this at any time during the trial; billing then starts when the trial ends, so you don’t lose any trial days. If you cancel in Account › Manage billing before the trial ends, you won’t be charged.
When the trial ends without a plan. Your account locks: Saved mode and sync stop until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted; your libraries stay saved and are all there again as soon as you subscribe. Quick mode and the demo keep working. You can delete your account at any time.
Renewal. Once billing starts, the subscription renews automatically each month or year at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. We will tell you by email before a price change applies to your subscription.
Cancelling. Cancel any time under Account › Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep full access until the end of the period you paid for (or the end of the trial). We do not give refunds for partial periods unless the law requires it.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while and the app asks you to update your card in Manage billing. If it still fails, the subscription ends.
When a subscription ends. Nothing is deleted. You can still view and export your libraries. Cloud sync pauses until you subscribe again.
Payments. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; Carina Dataworks never sees or stores your card. When you choose a plan, your card details go straight to Stripe on its own page; we receive only your email, the plan, the subscription status and its dates.
11. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to break the law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to interfere with or attack the Service. Do not resell the Service or present it as your own without our written permission.
12. Ending use
You can stop using the Service at any time; clearing this site’s data in your browser removes what it saved there, and deleting your account removes what is stored in it. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or stop you from using it if you break these Terms. Sections 2 to 7 and 14 to 16 continue to apply after that.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date above shows when. If a change is material, we will email account holders. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

16. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Carina Dataworks about the Service.
